This session will be and introduction to the Alexandria Public Schools New Teacher Induction Program. The program was implemented at Alexandria Public Schools nearly 20 years ago and although it keeps evolving, the basic structure has remained constant. Our model is developed around the components of a highly effective induction program which includes administrative support, professional development, coaching and mentoring.This is a three year comprehensive program to support teachers throughout their entire probationary period. At Alexandria Public Schools we believe this program is an important piece to answer the puzzle of teacher retention.
